Computer towers are special cases or enclosures designed to hold the components of an office desktop computer or personal computer (PC). Also known in various terms such as computer case and computer tower case, computer towers come in various styles, shapes, and sizes. There are mini-tower sizes, medium size mid-towers, and full-size towers. The size and shape of a computer tower usually depends on the computer components that the computer tower is supposed to cover, as well as the purpose and capacity of the computer.
Computers towers are usually made of aluminum, steel, plastic, or other synthetic materials. They protect the hard drive, motherboard, optical drives, power supply, floppy parts, and other crucial components of a computer. The arrangement of these items within the computer tower usually depends on the size and shape of the computer tower. These components are placed where they could be used most conveniently. For example, the drives (floppy drives and optical drives) are located at the front part to facilitate easy access. On the other hand, power supply components are placed at the rear part to avoid being affected by too much movements and activities.
Structure of Computer Towers
Computer towers are designed with special features for easy access of the components inside them. They all have built-in power buttons at the front connected to the power supply. There are knobs and buttons to control other components such as the computer fan, the optical drive, and the floppy drive. Computer towers also have ports for various features such as those for USB, firewire, headset, and TV out, among others.
A computer towers design is mainly based on the form factor or the type of the motherboard. Motherboards usually come in form factors of two basic types: the ATX and the microATX form factor. MicroATX is more compact than ATX. Some more compact computer models have towers and computer components built in together with the monitor.
Computer towers are usually rectangular. They usually come in beige, though some manufacturers have already released computer towers in other colors such as black, white, gray, and even pink and blue. Today, there are special models of computer towers that have fans, lights, see through walls, artwork designs, internal cooling systems, and other unique features to be able to compete in the highly competitive computer hardware industry.

Desktop computer towers are computer towers designed to hold the components of a desktop computer. They are usually found in offices, schools, and other places where desktop computers are used. They are commonly used in more formal settings such as work and school environments, though they are also used in homes.
