Netbooks have really taken off in the past two years. Initially they were popular as they offered exactly what consumers were looking for. That is, they provided good internet connection, basic word processing and were tiny. The first popular netbook had a very small 7 inch screen, which is less than half the size of the smallest laptop that was around at that time. (Most laptops have around 17 inch screens). The first netbook was, arguably, the 7inch Asus EEE PC. It basically started the netbook revolution and launched an entire new market.

However, todays consumers have changed, and now demand that they get more than just what the basic asus eee pc provided. They want their Netbook to be affordable (less than 400), have excellent performance and battery life, good internet connection, great looks and a larger screen. This has given rise to the latest netbook range, and that is what we call Premium Netbooks.

This is one of the most expensive netbooks on the market, with the price being around 380. The screen is also huge compared to normal netbooks and is 12 inches. This is getting very close to the size of typical laptop screens, and really pushing the boundaries of what a netbook is.
The Samsung NC20 measures 29221731 and weighs 1.5 kg so it is also quite a large netbook. The keyboard is a great size and the keys are all very well spaced. The touchpad is at the base of the keyboard, with the mousekeys placed around it. The Samsung NC20 is available in white, with glossy look. The only issue here is that the glossy cover picks up dust and finger prints.
The Nc20 is the first netbook to use the Via Nano as a processor instead of the Intel Atom. This makes it faster and more powerful, however it does use up more energy and so batteries might not last that long.
