The current figures of the sales of Standard definition television sets and the high definition television sets show clearly that now from this year the sales of the high definition television sets will surpass the sales of standard definition television sets.
The combination of both satellite television makes for something truely enjoyable. Not only do you have a the benefits of satellite tv, like the wide variety of channels, but you also have the clear crisp picture that HD technology gives.
The increase in the sales of high definition television sets will be a blow to the cable network industry. The bandwidth and the services offered by the cable television networks are to be much enhanced before they become suitable to be used by the owners of the high definition television sets. Now this is a very serious issue for the cable television network industry. They do not have much timer to spare as there already is a lot of competition in the market. The change in the cable network broad cast will cause lots of problems to the viewers. They may need to pay extra to get the services which they are getting much cheaper at the moment. The high definition television sets are good in one sense but they have many problems associated with the min another sense. The cable box was thrown out of the system by the spread of the cable television network. Now with the advent of high definition television the subscribers of the cable television network may need to go back to the original method. Still, there are companies which are trying to bring lots of benefits for the people. Fiber optic means of broadcast are also being experimented by some of the companies.
The blow to the cable industry will be serious as the analog television sets will also favor the high definition channels. The analog sets need additional support material to run such channels. Cable channels may be analog but the digital channels take lesser space and as a result the viewers can add a number of channels to their channel list by adding a little additional equipment but that enhances their experiences much more than that with the cable operating network.
In the next few years it is expected that the cable industry will be overshadowed by the satellite television channels. The companies who are producing the related products in the high definition fields will succeed most probably. In the long run only that technology will survive which will pay all due attention to customer needs. At the moment the cable operators are not facing that much trouble. They still have a huge market to cater to. But if the high definition thing will over shadow the market, the end result will likely be the temporary success of the satellite television. In the long run the results will depend on how the cable world reacts to this problem.
