It seems not a day goes by without Nokia either releasing a new model in a certain country and/or geographical location, or announcing the future release of a model. Well, I suppose in todays fast paced world, you have to keep pushing the boundaries and keep pushing out those new models just to compete with the other manufacturers, and the likes of new players to the mobile phone world, like Google (G1) and Apple (iphone).

Well, it seems Nokia have hit them head on, with the release of their first ever touch screen phone, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Yes, thats what we said, a touch screen phone from Nokia. The candy-bar shaped 5800 looks fantastic, and has been made as a dedicated Music Phone. It is a fairly large phone, as 111mm x 51.7mm x 15.5mm and weighs around 109 grams. However, this is quite typical of the smart phone generation phones, as they need room to put all that technological genius.

The camera on the Nokia 5800 is a 3.2 mega pixel camera with 3x digial zoom and a myriad of typical high-end camera features. These include: Dual led flash and auto focus, Carl Zeiss Optics, and a dedicated camera key.

Now we get to the main focus of the Nokia 5800, that is, the amazing Music Player. With 81 MB of internal memory and an extra 8 gigs memory card, you will never be short of space to store your tunes. Bolt in the advanced features like Album Graphics Display, Bass Booster, Play-lists, Stereo Widening, Graphic Equaliser, and high quality Stereo speakers and this is a music phone to be reckoned with, even by Sony Ericsson standards.
Of course being a Nokia smart phone, the 5800 also includes tons of useful applications and offers wifi and support for HTML,XHTML and WAP.
Overall, the 5800 is a great phone and sure to be one of the top sellers of 2009.
