The Nokia N97 is going to be one of the must have mobile phones of 2009.
Design
Dominated by a large 3.5 inch touch screen, with the call and end buttons being touch sensitive. It is a large phone, but this is justified by the fact it is actually a mini-PC. The size is 15.9mm deep by 55.3mm wide by 117.2mm tall when in its upright and in closed position.
The QWERTY board is a good size, and there is no chance of you hitting 2 buttons at the same time. The phone slides the qwerty out from the underside. This means that when you are using the qwerty keyboard, you will be using the screen on its side, which actually makes it seem larger and easier to use.
The headphone jack and the power switch are right on top of the Nokia N97, which is fairly typical of Nokia,
Use
The Nokia N97 uses the Symbion operating system. Nokia have built quite a few little goodies and widgets to play with, and the screen is very responsive and intuitive to use. Within no time at all, you will be moving around the interface and wondering how you ever did it before.
Music and Camera
It has a built in music player, which supports most music formats including MP3, and there is also an FM Radio and a music display with Play-list. You can also use an sd card to improve the memory size substantially to hold all of your tunes and your pictures.
The camera has 5 megapixels with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. It is typical of Nokia and is similar to the camera on the Nokia n96, which has been praised constantly. Talk time, when fully charged is roughly 6 hours.
A very cool feature that Nokia have introduced, that is being trialed in the Nokia N97 is Social location. This means that the N97 Nokia will update your social network(s) with your location, using GPS. This of course, only if you want it to. This feature will help set the Nokia n97 apart from the Samsung omnia and the iphone.
